Bob Heile

Chairman

Bob Heile

Bob is a 20-plus year veteran in the field of data communications and wireless data with several articles and workshops to his credit. He is a founding member and chair of 802.15, the IEEE working group on wireless personal-area networks, Chairman of the ZigBee Alliance, and chair of 802.15 Task Group 3a looking at UWB and other PHY layer alternatives for 802.15.3.

In 1990, he was one of the founding members of 802.11 and continues in an active role today. With GTE, Bob was responsible for wireless opportunity business development. Bob joined BBN in early 1997, prior to its acquisition by GTE, with the mission of commercializing wireless ad hoc networking and wireless PAN technologies. From 1990 to 1996, he was VP of engineering and business development for TyLink Corp, a bootstrap start-up in high-speed digital access products and network and circuit management software, and was a co-founder of Windata, Inc., a developer and manufacturer of wireless LANs. From 1980-1990, Bob was with Codex, a subsidiary of Motorola, where he was VP/GM of the Company's modem business. Bob holds a B.A. degree from Oberlin College and M.A. and Ph.D. degrees in physics from The Johns Hopkins University.

As CEO, Adrian focuses on expanding Tendril's customer base through multiple sales and marketing channels, including alliances with leading companies in the ZigBee network industry. Prior to Tendril, Adrian served as both Interim CEO and Executive Vice President of Ember Corporation, where he guided the company's market strategy through its critical early-growth stage and helped position the company for significant growth. Under Adrian's management, Ember became the leader in the embedded wireless field, where it currently holds a dominant market share. Earlier, Adrian was President of U.S. Operations and VP of Marketing for Soft-ex, a call accounting software manufacturer that he successfully helped reposition as a high-end enterprise software and services company. Adrian also served as VP of Business Development & Marketing at Connect Communications Group. He was educated at the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst, the British Army's prestigious officer training academy where Adrian graduated near the top of his class.

Patrick Kinney is the president of an independent consulting company (Kinney Consulting LLC) specializing in Wireless Communications and serving both large and small companies for their wireless needs. Previously he was a Vice President of Communication Technologies at Invensys responsible for directing communication efforts throughout Invensys's divisions. He received a Bachelors of Science in Electrical Engineering from the University of Notre Dame, Notre Dame Indiana. He has 28 years experience in the design, development, and deployment of communication systems and products. He is the co-Vice Chair and Secretary of the IEEE 802.15 Working Group for Wireless Personal Area Networks and the chair of the IEEE 802.15.4a Task Group. He is also the Secretary of the ZigBee Alliance and its Gateway Working Group Chair.

Jim has more than 20 years of financial and operations management experience in software, services and manufacturing. Jim was most recently the CFO at Demantra which was sold to Oracle in June 2006. In his role at Demantra, Jim was responsible for all aspects of finance, human resources and IT services. Jim has extensive M&A experience in both selling and acquiring companies. Prior to joining Demantra, Jim held senior finance positions at Neteos, BISYS Networking Services, Network Integrity, EMC and Epoch Systems. Jim holds a BBA in Accounting from St. Bonaventure University.

Brett Black is the Operations Manager for the Wireless Connectivity Operation in Freescale's Microcontroller Division.

Mr. Black joined Motorola in 1988 as a process engineer and later a component engineer in the Government Electronics Group. In 1995, he transferred to the semiconductor business unit as a technical marketing engineer in the Application-specific Integrated Circuits (ASIC) Division.

He became the global Marketing Manager for the DSP Standard Products Division in 1999, where he led the technical marketing support and demand creation for the 56800 hybrid controller family.

In September, 2003, Mr. Black moved to the Radio Products Division to start up an operation for their distribution business. His job expanded in December, 2004, where he assumed responsibility for the global 2.4 GHz radio business focused on 802.15.4/ZigBee based solutions. He has successfully grown this business to include platforms focused on consumer, industrial and commercial markets.

Mr. Black has been the Freescale representative on the ZigBee Alliance board of directors since December, 2004. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in material science from the University of Arizona and Masters in Business Administration from Arizona State University. He is based in Tempe, Ariz., where he lives with his wife and three children.

Kisoo joined Samsung Electronics Co.,Ltd. at 1984 and engaged in R&D area more than 20 years.

After joining in Samsung Electronics at 1984 and worked for developement of G4 and G3 Fax system, ADSL system as a Software part leader and Broadband network terminal equipment and so on.

During his working in Samsung, He also worked at Samsung Advanced Institute of technology that is central research center in Samsung Electronics as a leader of Wireless Connectivity technology R&D area and Network Protocol Technology Group from 2001 until 2006. Receltly he leading Wireless connectivity Lab in Samsung Electronics

He holds B.S in Yonsei University and Master degree in KAIST department of EE.

Francis, 46, French, is graduated in engineering. He has been in the RFID market for the last 7 years as Business Unit Manager. He joined STMicroelectronics in 1985 and occupied various positions. Since 2001 he has been responsible for ST’s worldwide RFID practice. In this short tenure he has successfully positioned STMicroelectronics at the forefront of the fast growing EPC market. He is a strong propagator of fully interoperable systems and promotes actively worldwide standard in emerging markets.He has 12 years experience of Corporate R&D and Product Division IC Design with a focus on emerging businesses (RF, CMOS Embedded Data Conversion and Digital scanning processors). He managed the digital scanning marketing activity for 3 years within the Display Division. He also headed a joint product development center between ST and one of its key OEM account involved in secure systems.

Jean-Pierre Desbenoit joined Schneider Electric in 2002 to take the position of Electronic and Software Research Director.

Previously Jean-Pierre spent 20 years in the Telecommunication field in various R&D positions : electronic design, software design, software development manager, and radio department manager at EADS Telecom where he has been involved in the TETRAPOL technology specification and was managing the development teams in charge of base stations and radio terminals equipping the public security forces of several countries in the world.

Pat Gonia

Mr. Patrick Gonia is a Senior Staff Scientist at Honeywell labs in Minneapolis, Minnesota. He has 23 years experience in data communications and distributed object-oriented architectures for control applications. Mr. Gonia is currently leading the development of new wireless communications solutions for Honeywell's Automation and Control Solutions businesses. He also represents Honeywell in the ZigBee industry consortium developing a very low-cost wireless network for control. Mr. Gonia has participated with numerous other groups of companies in development of networking standards including DeviceNet and Foundation Fieldbus for industrial control, SEMI E51 for semiconductor equipment control, and numerous IEEE 802 and 1451 standards.

 
 
Jay Hendrix

Jay Hendrix is Business Line Manager of Automation Controllers and Wireless Solutions for Siemens Building Technologies, Inc., Buffalo Grove, Illinois. He has over 20 years experience in product management, system integration and controls installation.

Most recently Jay led the wireless team that introduced the APOGEE Wireless ZigBee technology to the building automation market. Prior to joining the wireless team Jay was responsible for leading the product management of integrated solutions and applications helping customers manage their buildings more efficiently as well as reduce operating expenses. Jay also served on ASHRAE SGPC 13 technical committee for Specifying DDC systems and has authored and contributed on articles related to wireless and integrated building systems.

Jay holds a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering Technology from Purdue University and a Master's of Business Administration from DePaul University.

Robert LeFort was appointed as CEO of Ember in April 2006. Most recently, he was the President of Infineon Technologies North America Corp. in June 2002, with responsibility for all headquarters business activity and key customers. Earlier, he was Vice President Infineon's Automotive & Industrial business, managing business development and relationships with companies using Infineon chips for dynamic vehicle management, engine control, automotive safety systems and related applications. Before joining Infineon in 2000, LeFort was Customer Manager at Delphi Corporation, a Tier One automotive electronics supplier, and held positions at Cherry Semiconductor (now part of ON Semiconductor), Unitrode Corporation and Analog Devices. He holds an MBA from Boston University and a BSEE from the University of Massachusetts at Lowell.

Kobus Marneweck manages ZigBee stack development within Texas Instruments’ Low Power Wireless Group and represents Texas Instruments at ZigBee Alliance. Mr. Marneweck liaises with strategic customers and provides software strategy and interface with silicon development within Texas Instruments’ Low Power Wireless Group.

Kobus Marneweck was previously with Microchip Technology, Chandler, AZ for 11 years where he was Product & Strategic Marketing Manager for the Advanced Microcontroller Division with responsibility for 8-bit and 16-bit MCU product lines, definition of roadmap for MCU, Ethernet, USB and RF product families, and research and negotiation of acquisitions targets and intellectual property.

Ed May, Director of Business Development, is responsible for building market awareness and strategic alliances for Itron advance metering infrastructure solutions. Ed joined Itron in 1986. For the last 20 years his duties and responsibilities, including systems engineering, marketing and sales, have been focused on optimizing utility business practices, encompassing field workforce automation, distribution automation and AMR.

In addition, Ed is a member of the GridWise™ Alliance and a board member of the ZigBee® Alliance.

After graduating from the University of Twente, at the Electronics department, he worked for 15 years in Philips Research in Eindhoven, on interconnect technologies, digital signal processing architectures, and parallel computing. The second half of this period he headed the department for information processing architectures and focussed on the digitization in consumer electronics appliances.

Between 1993 and 1997, Odijk was strategic marketing manager for the Philips semiconductors business unit in multimedia and communications.

From 1997 to 2004, he was the system architect of Philips' Consumer Electronics division and was responsible for advanced system architectures, systems interoperability and the divisions' research program. In this period he chaired the company wide architecture management team for high volume electronics products and represented PCE in the boards of several standardization committees.

Currently, Odijk is, within the Intellectual Property and Standards organization of Philips, overseeing all standardization activities in the areas of connectivity and mobile, entertainment technologies and Healthcare and Lighting
