  TI Gateway CuboVision®
Telecom Italia developed a few instances of ZigBee Gateway devices to allow simpler and faster deployment of ZigBee networks without the need to configure and manage each single device. All the communication, configuration, and management capabilities are delegated to an upper software layer thanks to the Telecom Italia gateway abstraction layer (GAL) that translates back and forward IP REST requests to proper ZigBee commands/messages and viceversa, according-to and in compliance-with the ZigBee Gateway Device specifications. The ZigBee Gateway is made available by Telecom Italia for several hw/sw architectures, including Linux and Windows OS, and supporting two different ZigBee dongle vendors, Freescale and Ember. The ZigBee Gateway device is also available for the Telecom Italia Cubovision® product with the Freescale USB ZigBee Dongle.
