Initiative. The ZigBee Alliance was presented the Initiative Award for their promotion of the ZigBee wireless technology. As a global open standard, ZigBee is paving the way for dramatically different devices to communicate for the first time, while offering more control and convenience options than ever before. This year, the ZigBee Alliance began a new initiative to provide solutions for energy management and efficiency by addressing growing concern around the environment and predicted energy shortages. Numerous states and countries are pushing ultra-efficient new homes and buildings, and only ZigBee addresses such a broad challenge.

Best Cleantech/Environmental Startup Award
AlertMe wins Best Cleantech/Environmental Startup award at the Techcrunch Europas – July 2009. AlertMe scooped Best Cleantech/ Environmental Startup Award at the TechCrunch Europas, which were held in London on July 9th. AlertMe was picked from a huge number of European companies on CrunchBase, the free database of companies and investors run by TechCrunch, and then shortlisted after a public online vote. The shortlist of 5 companies in the Best Cleantech/ Environmental Startup were then judged by a panel of 19 judges and the winner was picked. read full article.

CLEANTECH SUMMIT 2009
One of the Most Promising Cleantech Companies in Europe
AlertMe named one of the Most Promising Cleantech Companies in Europe – June 2009. On June 17, AlertMe was named one of the most promising Cleantech Companies in Europe at the European Tech Tour's inaugural Cleantech Summit 2009, held in Geneva. The summit showcased 24 leading European start-up and early stage cleantech companies. The top-24 companies were selected by a committee composed of experienced cleantech investors and professionals across Europe. The Summit's aim was to support the development of start-ups developing products and services that will have a strong influence on combating climate change and alleviating the environmental impact of business. Cleantech is currently the subject of intense political and social interest and is one of the fastest growing investment markets. read full article.

Joint First Prize - Consumer Product Design Category
AlertMe Wins at the Design Week Awards – February 2009. This week, AlertMe scooped the joint first prize in the Design Week Awards’ Consumer Product Design category alongside Apple’s MacBook Air, in recognition of the unique design of its wireless Home Monitoring and Security service. MeshNetics was recognized with the “Excellence in Technology Award in the field of wireless sensor network (WSN) solutions based on ZigBee” award for providing state-of-the-art capabilities that enable the convergence of building automation subsystems such as lighting, HVAC, and security into one interoperable ecosystem. Currently there are hundreds of thousands, even millions of disconnected devices that perform daily functions invisible to people—such as metering and sensor devices taking measurements, industrial and access controls. Through a two-part process, entries were screened by a panel of engineers and the finalists were presented in the Specifier’s Guide mailed with the May 2008 issue.
